Majority shoemakers covered by collective agreement

19 Nov 2023 - Based on 20 years of work experience, shoemakers will earn between £1,874 and £2,297 per month. Among the people in this job, 29% reported they are satisfied with their wage. This is made clear in research by Paywizard.co.uk, conducted in 2023.

Based on our survey, workers with 25 years of work experience earn the highest salary: between £1,903 and £2,326 per month. Employees who have 20 years of experience, receive a hourly salary ranging from £11 to £13.

Shoemakers mostly female

44% says they are male, while 56% entered female as their gender. Workers who answered the survey are mostly between 49 and 70 years of age.

Average working week of 39 hours

On average, employees work 39 hours per week.

Coworkers mostly female

Of the participating workers, 21% work in a multinational organisation. 32% of workers in this occupation state that they have no permanent contract for their job. 68% of workers state that they have a permanent contract for the work that they are doing. In most cases, workers in this occupation report that the majority of their coworkers are female. Since starting their first job, 38% of workers have worked fewer than 5 years. The majority of people in this job work in organisations of 500 or more employees.

Of all surveyed workers in this occupation, 29% feel satisfied about their salary. 33% of the workers reports to be dissatisfied with their wage.
