Male footballers still earn millions more than female footballers

28 May 2021 – Footballer Raheem Sterling is the highest earning athlete in 2020-21. He earns £1,300,000.00 per month. On the other hand, Jodie Taylor of the England women’s football team earns £35,000.00 per month.

The England national football team (male) earns significantly higher than the female national football team. Harry Kane, the captain of the England football team earns £866,666.67 per month. Steph Houghton, the captain of the female football team earns £5,416.67 per month. This is lower than most of the players on the men’s team. The difference in the two captains’ salaries cannot be attributed to age or experience, as Kane is younger and less experienced than Houghton.
